Here is a shot taken on April 25th 2011 of the flooding south of Winnipeg. You can see how the road heading SW essentially disappears into the water.
Up until my current job I have only flown older airplanes. At the age of 26 I flew a deHavilland Beaver that was manufactured in the 1940s and was 52 years old -- twice my age. The deHavilland Beavers and Otters I flew were from the 40's, 50's and 60's and the Twin Otters spanned the 60's, 70's and 80's. Today I am fortunate to be flying new airplanes and, in some cases, brand new airplanes. Today I flew an airplane with only 66 landings on it -- brand new! It smelled just like a new car and, for $50 million, one might expect that new car smell. These aircraft fly in the vicinity of 3,000 hours a year so this aircraft had only been online for a couple weeks.
